Here’s an alternative.
Don’t think about yourself at all, don’t plan how you are going to improve yourself, your career or any part of your life by focusing on yourself. When you leave the house, smile at the first person you see, make his/her day a little brighter & better. During the day, every time someone helps you, or does or says something nice – touch their arm or hand when you thank them, make them feel special & that they have helped your day to be better.
Iterate until redundancy.
“Hope and fear are both phantoms that arise from thinking of the self. When we don’t see the self as self, what do we have to fear?”
― Lao Tzu, The Way of Life
